My Universal Rx - Unlimited Access!

Your pharmacy plan allows you to purchase prescriptions at a participating pharmacy and receive the lowest possible cost. At the point of purchase, members receive the lower of the nationally contracted discount price or the pharmacy's regular price (as submitted to our plan). Simply provide your Universal Rx Card each time you purchase prescription items. Make sure the pharmacy submits the pharmacy claim to Universal Rx. Check below for more information on your program.

Program Details – How does it work?

What Can You Save On When Using The Points Of Care Discount Card?

Save on prescription medications not covered by health insurance or Medicare. If you have a high deductible plan, use the Points of Care discount card to save money on prescriptions until your deductible is met. Points of Care also provides savings on pet medications filled at a pharmacy, mail order items and diabetes supplies, and hearing supplies.

What Are The Program Benefits?

  • There are no pre-existing condition restrictions.
  • No activation is required and no restrictions on usage.
  • Points of Care can save you 10-50% on healthcare products not normally covered under insurance plans.

Who Can Use Points of Care?

  • Those without health insurance OR those with health insurance who are taking a non-covered medication.
  • Medicare Part D participants in the "donut hole" of coverage.
  • Health Savings Account users can save on out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Use on pet medications that are available at regular retail pharmacies.

The card is designated "family" and can be used by the cardholder, spouse and/or children.

Can I Use The Card Even Though I Have Insurance Through The Affordable Care Act?

Yes, most health care plans offered through the MarketPlace only cover certain medications, or they require high co-pays and deductibles before they start to help with the costs. If that’s the case, use your Points of Care card instead of your insurance plan to save money. You can use the Points of Care card even if you have health insurance such as during your deductible period or for medications your health insurance does not cover.

How Do Members use the points of care pharmacy discount savings plan?

Print your card or save the pdf document to your phone by clicking on "Print Card". Members simply provide the card each time they visit a participating pharmacy to purchase prescriptions. The Points of Care savings card instructs the pharmacist to submit the pharmacy claim on-line to URx. This always assures the card member receives the lowest price! Members must use one of the participating pharmacies listed on the program website.

Where Can Members Use The Points Of Care Discount Savings Plan?

Members must use one of the pharmacies participating in your plan. Universal Rx participates with most major chain pharmacies.
